Our Services

Mental Health and Welbeing at School

We provide professional support and awareness-raising trainings to help schools improve their mental health and wellbeing provisions.

Having established excellent partnerships with 11 local girls’ schools, we use our unique in-community position and understanding to upskill and support staff in embedding mental health and wellbeing in their school’s provisions.

Professional Development Trainings

Delivered as part of our Mental Health Network, theseawareness-raising trainings delve deeply into common mental health issues, crisis support and other relevant topics selected by members. Sessions are delivered by Clinical Psychologist Dr Lisa Shostak, Senior Tutor at Kings College, typically in a three-part series and often co-delivered by parents and young people with lived experience.

In partnership with the CAMHS Alliance, Sunbeams co-delivers WAMHS – Wellbeing and Mental Health at Schools Initiative. School leads receive monthly visits from a CAMHS Clinician to devise and implement an action plan for improved school-based provisions to support pupils, parents and staff mental health & wellbeing.

What participating schools say:

  • It’s been transformative. Your trainings and support has shifted our mindset and we are now invested in supporting pupil’s and staff wellbeing, not only their academic performance
Feigy Deutch, Beis Chinuch Primary School
  • Participating in the WAMHS project has given the school a connection with First Steps and CAMHS, which we wouldn't have been privileged to. Also, having Lauren at school as a 'representative' of First Steps has brought reassurance to parents about attending sessions at First Steps.
    Malki Schweitzer, Talmud Torah London
  • Being a SENCO is physically and emotionally draining and feeling that others are in the same boat and in a similar storm is so comforting!
Raizy Weiss, SEND Coordinator, Beis Chinuch Secondary School
